The EUR/USD surges to fresh highs above the 1.3600 level, helped by good political news in the EU: the ECB President was far from dovish in his monetary policy speech, and in Italy PM Letta won the confidence vote sending local share markets strongly up. Considering the US government shutdown seems way too far from ending in the upcoming days, the EUR/USD upward momentum will likely extend over current American session. The hourly chart shows price steady near the highs, while indicators head strongly up in positive territory, and price extends well above its 20 SMA. Immediate level to watch is 1.3620 static resistance level, in route to 1.3710 this year high.
